There are many places to visit such as the pretty village of
Mousehole, Newlyn to see/buy the newly landed fish or go round
the Pilchard Works, Lamorna Valley and Marazion.
There are multi-screen cinemas in Penzance and St. Ives. The Acorn
Theatre in Penzance and the Hall for Cornwall in Truro have theatrical
and musical entertainment and there is the outdoor Minack theatre.
There are craft shops, museums of many varieties - local history,
geology and the lighthouse museum in Penzance, the museum of submarine
telegraphy at Porthcurno and the folk museum at Zennor.
There are theme parks at Flambards and Land's End, the Gweek seal
sanctuary, birds and animals at Paradise Park, Goonhilly Satellite
Station and many mines including Geevor, just beyond St.Just.
As you drive around you will see ruined engine houses - evidence
of the past mining industry.
A number of artists and sculptors live in the area so there are
plenty of art galleries.
The spectacular north coast road from St. Just will take you to
picturesque St. Ives with the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth
museum.
